‘State to go for waste to energy plants in big way’

In order to address the problem of solid waste generated in the 110 urban civic bodies in the AP state and to make them open defecation free by this year-end, the AP state government is planning to set up 11 waste to energy plants that will utilise advanced technology. The government will soon finalise tenders for the projects which are estimated to cost between $46 million to $77 million under Swachh Andhra mission.
