Rawat asks for more grant to hill states for solid waste

During a meeting of sub-group of Chief Ministers under ‘Swachh Bharat Abhiyan’, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has demanded that the grant to mountainous regions as Viability Gap Funding for solid waste management under the campaign should be increased from 20 per cent to 60 per cent. He also demanded to revise the amount given for construction of community toilets in hilly areas from $984 per unit to $1817 per unit.
