NGT clears Nagpur MC’s solid waste project

National Green Tribunal (NGT) has cleared Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s project to convert Municipal Solid Waste to electricity. NMC generates between 900 and 950 ton solid waste everyday. Between 100 and 150 ton is concrete and debris. The capacity of the MSW plant is 600 ton per day. The remaining 200 ton will be segregated and disposed of through landfilling. The plant will have a provision to expand capacity by another 300 ton per day.
