India lacks infrastructure to recycle electronic waste

As per precious metals consultancy GFMS, India is the fourth largest dumping ground of e-waste but the country failed to recover gold out of the e-waste due to lack of infrastructure. GFMS revealed that gold recycled from e-waste was estimated at just 48,300 ounces in 2000 which increased to 352,000 ounces in 2014 due to the introduction and enforcement of e-waste regulations.
